Our first Holiday

Since this is our first year being married, it was our first time sharing holidays. It was so weird having 2 Thanksgivings and 2 Christmas's but I honestly loved sharing them with Haden. These were the best holidays I ever had and I look forward to many more :)

First Thanksgiving: We did the Skeen Thanksgiving first in Brady

Then, we drove to Lamesa to do Thanksgiving with the Popnoe's

(This photo is courtesy of the HouserHouseBlog... somehow I ended up with no pictures!) At the Popnoe Thanksgiving I witnessed for my first time "JimBob classic" where all of their family (among others) get together and have a basketball tournament! Unfortunately, Haden had to work all day so he missed the whole thing!

Not Christmas we kind of did the same way: Brady first then on Christmas day we traveled to Lamesa. First some pictures from Brady. I always love love love doing Christmas with my family. It's one of my absolute favorite days of the year.

Then we were off to Lamesa! It was interesting to do Christmas with another family. My family always does it with just us, but in Lamesa they did "Popnoe Christmas" with the whole Popnoe family! Here are some pics:

Again, do to another lack of pictures, these Lamesa pics are also stolen from the Houser Blog!

Our journey begins... with "I do"!

Haden and I wanted to create a blog to help us keep track of the journey of our life together. Even though we are a little late on it, I want to start from the beginning... the wedding! I'm just going to publish some of the highlights and our favorite parts.

Let's start with some engagement pictures:

Now let's move onto the rehearsal dinner. My new mother-in-law, Teresa Popnoe, put together a beautiful rehearsal dinner for us in Brady. Here are a few pictures of that too!

Teresa, thanks for doing all of that for us! We love you! Now the wedding... this is going to be just a super quick run through! First, the ceremony! We got married at Selah Springs Ranch in Brady, Texas.

Haden says this was his favorite part... when he saw me. He's so funny lol.

Now the reception and traditions Cake cutting

My wonderful friends from Florida who came for the wedding! And I had to throw in a shot of my beautiful rind. Haden, you did a great job, I love you!

Our first dance, Father-Daughter dance, and Mother-Son dance

Finally the Bouquet and Garter tosses

Ok these are really the last ones, I promise, but I just realized I have to put in some pictures of our cakes!

I guess I would have to say my favorite part was the kiss and "I now pronounce you man and wife". So awesome. Although even now I would say we still didn't know then how much those words were really going to change our lives!

We didn't take any pictures of the cabin we stayed at in Fredricksberg after the wedding... but for the sake of recording events I feel like I need to tell this story (sorry Haden): Even knows how bad the drought was last year, but you know it rained on and off the entire wedding day! (They say that's good luck, but I think that's just a way of making people with outdoor weddings feel better!) Anyway, as we were doing the send off it starting POURING! So we ran into the truck and Haden had to take of his tux to give to Rob before we left. Off course his truck had all kinds of pranks done to it, so off we went, Haden in underwear with stuff all over the truck. About halfway there we got pulled over so the officer comes up to the window... to find Haden in his underwear! That was an awkward situation to explain! Anyway I had to get out to unhook the cans tied to the truck (he pulled us over because he said the cans were a fire hazard, even though it was pouring rain!)

Anyway, we had a great time during the wedding and after. Thank you so much to our wonderful families and everyone who came!!!!!!
